Blazons

*trigger warning – this will drive some people crazy*

Five step process (very wealthy players may have other options not explored here):

Step 1. Select the debuffs you want.

There are 48 types of Blazon. 12 for each troop type, in two sets of six. One of those sets gives you debuffs and buffs when attacking. The other gives you buffs and debuffs when defending.

If you have many Blazons, I suggest keeping one of each type, so you have the option of switching from attack to defence. But that is a lot for many people. So choose based on how you play if needed.

Add the set you want to each troop type. And if you want to keep a second set, lock these, or they will be accidentally trashed.

Step 2. Review the buffs on each piece you have.

Every single piece (even two pieces of the same type) has different buffs. You must review them all individually, and lock anything that has the combination you want.

Other than anything you have locked under step one, I suggest not locking anything that includes the following:

Step 3. Pick the piece to upgrade

Now we are going to review all of our locked pieces only.

I would search in the first instance for pieces that have double attack buffs.

In particular double combinations of “marching ranged attack” which will only work on attacks, or “ranged attack” which will work on attack and defence. Trap players might wish to choose double “defending ranged attack”, for example.

For now, just find the best one you have.

Step 4. Let’s upgrade it

Make sure the Blazon you have chosen is actively assigned to a troop type.

Then find it in the troop training building, and hit upgrade. It will upgrade by destroying the Blazons you have left unlocked.

At level 10, it will unlock a third buff. And level 15, it will unlock a fourth buff. These, I am sad to say, are totally random.

If you get to level 10, and the third buff is rubbish, you should stop and begin again on a new piece.

Step 5. Keep learning

It is very clear that even for big spenders, Blazons will take a very, very long time.

Let’s keep talking, and learning when one of us gets a great combination.
