Playbook type: Development
Player level: All levels
Cost:
- Time
Return:
- Resources (food, wood, stone, ore)
Method:
1. Click on the Resource tile you are attempting to occupy and verify it is a “full” tile.
2. Check your Monarch gear and select the appropriate Crystal that matches the rss you are gathering
3. Next click the occupy option
4. Your strongest general overall will be the default gathering general. Click on the picture/icon of the general to change to.
5. Then “Select General” screen will appear. Scroll through your generals to find your best gathering general.
This page sets out the best available gathering generals, and why you might like to choose each one.
6. Once you have selected your general, verify if they have the correct skill cards. I recommend putting 3 different gathering cards on each general. i.e. Stone Gatherer, Ore Gatherer, Food Gatherer. Once you have 3 unique skill cards try to obtain a level 4 skill card of each and place on the general.
7. Now is the time to “dress” your general for gathering. Click on the general’s picture. You will see the full body portrait and each of the 6 types of clothing/weapon. Choose the best gear that matches the rss you are attempting to gather.
This post explains which type of gear a general should wear for each type of gathering.
8. Once your General is dressed (consult the above link for detail), select that general. This will take you back to the “March” screen. At this screen you need to look at the bottom of the screen to see how much troop load can be accumulated by the troops you have selected and the gear the general is wearing.
9. This number should always be increased to compensate for changing gear and potentially reducing your troop load. If the rss tile is 7,000,000, be sure the troop load is 7,500,000 or higher as a rule of thumb. This way your troops don’t leave a small portion of rss in the tile and depart early. Check your reports when they return to ensure you’re gathering everything and double check the rss tile location to confirm it no longer remains.
10. Now you are ready to send your gathering General on their march.
